Rob Riemen, essayist and cultural philosopher, is the founder, president, and CEO of the Nexus Institute, a Netherlands-based, leading international center devoted to intellectual reflection and to inspiring Western cultural and philosophical debate. Riemen, who has lectured widely around the world, is the author of The Nobility of Spirit: A Forgotten Ideal (Yale University Press, 2008).

Matthew Crawford

On November 18, 2008, at a special awards dinner at the University Club in New York City, Institute Fellow Matthew Crawford’s article, “Shop Class as Soulcraft” (The New Atlantis, Summer 2006), won a $25,000 Templeton Enterprise Award for the best article in the “field of humane economics and culture over the past two years.” His book by the same name is due out in June from Penguin.
