Love and Justice Lecture Series

The Working Group on Love and Justice has been meeting regularly under the direction of Nicholas Wolterstorff and Jennifer L. Geddes and is pleased to announce the Love and Justice Lecture Series, which will bring ten leading scholars to the University of Virginia in 2010.
 

Regina Schwartz

Regina Schwartz will inaugurate the series with a lecture on “Loving Justice” in the Dome Room of the Rotunda, tomorrow, February 2, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow the lecture in the Lower West Oval Room. This talk is co-sponsored by UVa’s Departments of English and Religious Studies.

Craig Calhoun, President of the Social Science Research Council, will give the second lecture in the series, “From Common Humanity to Humanitarian Obligation: Suffering Strangers, Progress, and Emergencies,” in the Dome Room of the Rotunda on Thursday, February 11, at 3:00 p.m. This talk is co-sponsored by UVa’s Departments of Sociology and Religious Studies.
