Megan Juelfs-Swanson received her Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Virginia. Her dissertation, "Parenting is political: Partisan parenting advice and everyday practice in contemporary America," uses the Culture of American Families data as a window on political culture in the United States. She served as a research assistant for the Institute’s Culture of American Families project (2012) and currently works as a data analyst for the Thriving Cities Project.
