Emily Rose Gum is a graduate student in Theology at the University of Oxford, studying Christian Ethics. She holds an MA Joint Honours in International Relations and Theological Studies from the University of St. Andrews. Before beginning graduate school, Emily worked for seven years in publishing and communications with the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture and its journal, The Hedgehog Review. Her research focuses on the church and moral formation.

The Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture is an interdisciplinary research center and intellectual community at the University of Virginia committed to understanding contemporary cultural change and its individual and social consequences, training young scholars, and providing intellectual leadership in service to the public good.
